Choosing Travel Gadgets

There are plenty of gadgets on the market that will make your travel experience easier and more pleasant.  Keep in mind that the more gadgets you bring the more cumbersome your bag will be.  The extra bulk, especially if your bulk is flashy and you are not careful, can also make you a target for theft.  You should be cautious when carrying around your gadgets.

Electronic Gadgets

Cameras are and essential part of the travel experience.  Based on your travel and the places you go you have many models to choose from.  If you will be traveling for a long time, going from hostels, to bus, to plane, you should choose a camera that is sturdy.

Ipods & Mp3 Players are an easy way to pass the time whether you are on a plane or making your morning commute.  Ipods & MP3 players are especially useful for long term travel, when you have down time.

Digital Readers are useful if you don’t want to lug around the extra weight of a few books.  It is also possible to download guide books to your digital reader. The Lonely Planet Online Shop offers the option of buying individual chapters in case you do not need the whole book.  Digital readers are helpful but they aren’t for everyone.  Many people don’t like to read from a computer screen.

Radio Clocks are important for backpackers and long term travelers.  While hotels have room service and a front desk that can provide a wake up call, hostels do not.  Clocks also come in handy for those untimely travelers who need an extra reminder or an alarm to alert them when to catch the next train.
